Discussing predictions for 2011 with George Norry, John Hogue talked about what he called a "cold depression" and said, "And we are kind of in this position now, and it may last for 10 to 20 years, where we are sluggishly going along in what I would call a cold depression. Danger is that the cold depression will get very hot if we don't try to reboot our economy with a whole new industrial revolution that goes away from fossil fuels. Um, if we don't want to do that, then you're gonna see gas go, easily go to 5 dollars-- I think that's too low. I think by 2012 it's going be 6 or 7 dollars a gallon. Because, as we've talked about on this show, even back in 2004, when it wasn't that well known, we talked about the past peak of oil."
